Poland's newly elected president Karol Nawrocki has pledged to "represent the country with dignity" and to take into account all the issues important to Polish citizens, according to Nawrocki's post on X.

"A difficult and at times brutal election campaign is over. Thanks to your votes, I have been elected President of the Republic of Poland. This is a great responsibility and duty. I accept this decision with humility and respect. I thank you for every vote cast for me, for every kind word and gesture. For all expressions of support in this extraordinarily difficult battle for Poland," Nawrocki said in his address to Poles.

According to the president-elect, his victory shows that Poles want to live in a "safe, economically strong country that cares for the weakest" and which "carries weight in international, European, and transatlantic relations."

"You can be sure that as head of state, I will not ignore any issue important to Poland and its citizens. I will represent you with dignity on the international stage, monitoring the subjective attitude towards Poland," Nawrocki stated.
