Nawrocki camp accuses Tusk of using Russia threat for political points

The office of Polish President Karol Nawrocki has criticized Prime Minister Donald Tusk over his statements regarding a possible threat from Russia. A representative of the presidential administration stated that the head of government is using the topic of Russia for political purposes, according to Polstat News.
As the article reports, Marcin Przydacz, a representative of the Chancellery of the President of Poland, stated that Tusk should be more responsible in his public statements regarding Russia.
As is well known, the Polish prime minister has repeatedly spoken about the possibility of a Russian attack on NATO territory and the need to prepare for such a scenario. At the same time, Tusk emphasized that there are currently no signs of Russia preparing for a full-scale invasion of Poland.
Nawrocki's team stated that politicians should not use public fears regarding Russia to achieve political goals.
"One cannot speculate on the fears of Poles and use Russia to gain political points," said the presidential representative.
Radosław Sikorski also accused
In addition to Tusk, Nawrocki is also dissatisfied with similar statements regarding the threat from Russia by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski. Marcin Przydacz accused the politicians of using security issues in internal political disputes.
"I am afraid that Minister Sikorski and Prime Minister Tusk are beginning to play with this security theme to draw attention to themselves rather than to the problems," he noted.
"I only warn the Prime Minister against the desire to use this situation for his own purposes, because if he overdoes it, at some point people will become indifferent and, indeed, when a threat appears, they will either not react or ignore the Prime Minister's warnings," the official added.
Discussions in Poland
At the same time, discussions continue in Poland regarding the level of the Russian threat and the need to strengthen the country's security. Tusk's statements came against the backdrop of reports of possible Russian provocations against NATO countries.
Earlier, Tusk stated that Russia might try to test NATO's readiness to respond to a potential attack. His words became the subject of political discussion within Poland.
