In November, at least 1,500 military personnel from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Poland will arrive in Poland. They will practice a scenario involving the deployment of European forces in Ukraine following a possible ceasefire, according to The Times.
At least 1,500 military personnel are expected to participate in the exercises. During the drills, they will practice troop movements and deliver essential supplies, including fuel and food.
The exercises aim to prepare European countries for the possible deployment of a military contingent in Ukraine after hostilities cease. In such a scenario, foreign forces would serve as a deterrent against Russia.
British Defense Minister Wes Streeting confirms that next month, thousands of troops will take part in large-scale exercises in Poland. According to him, these exercises are intended to help prepare for military support and post-war reconstruction in Ukraine.
At the same time, this involves rehearsing a possible scenario in the event of a ceasefire, rather than a confirmed decision to immediately deploy troops to Ukraine.
On October 12–16, Russia and its allies conducted military exercises in Belarus. The armed forces of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan also participated in the exercises.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that large-scale joint military exercises by the Coalition of the Willing would take place in October–November 2026.
