NATO was created to deter Russia, and by the end of the decade, Alliance countries will be stronger. Russia, meanwhile, will face a "terrible hangover" by 2030, according to Poland’s foreign minister, Radosław Sikorski, on X.

“NATO was created to deter Russia. Then we spent over 20 years trying to Europeanize Russia. And Russia itself decided to reject all that and try to rebuild its empire. We will not allow that. By the end of the decade, we will be stronger, and Russia will have a terrible hangover,” Sikorski said.

At the same time, the Polish foreign minister noted that the EU economy is valued at $19 trillion, while Russia’s is $2 trillion. Sikorski added that since Donald Trump’s first presidency, European allies, including Canada, have doubled their defense spending.

“As Europe, we spend 2.5 times more on peaceful purposes than Russia does on the military,” emphasized the Polish minister.
