NATO not ready for war with Russia, only Ukraine can defeat it - Ukraine's Presidential Office
Countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are psychologically unprepared for war with Russia. The only chance to defeat Russia is to do so in Ukraine, reports Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the Head of the Office of the President.
Podolyak emphasized that the most striking aspect of the information about Russia being ready to attack NATO countries in 3-5 years is NATO’s total psychological unpreparedness for war in general.
“NATO countries have a lot of weapons, which are much more effective, but they are not ready to use them. Accordingly, if Russia maintains its current pace of militarization and authoritarianism over the next five years, NATO will have no chance,” he said.
Podolyak pointed out that NATO countries will "never" be psychologically ready for war with Russia, and the Kremlin fully understands this.
“That’s why Russia is gradually raising the stakes in this war, gradually dismantling all taboos, gradually abandoning all the rules. Specifically, the rules of war. As a result, Russia is preparing a platform in case it does not lose in Ukraine. Therefore, the only way to defeat Russia is to defeat it through Ukraine. Ukraine can do this,” said the President’s Office advisor.
In Podolyak’s view, if Ukraine cannot defeat Russia, “then NATO countries should prepare for extremely difficult consequences.”
Ukraine’s position on negotiations with Russia
Recently, Mykhailo Podolyak stated that Ukraine is capable of engaging in peace negotiations with Russia, but only through coercive measures. He believes that economic and diplomatic unity is necessary for effective pressure on Russia.
The President’s Office advisor also declared that negotiations with the Russian authorities are impossible, as Russia has not yet been made to pay a sufficiently high price for the war.
Furthermore, Podolyak believes that the delay by Western countries in providing weapons to Ukraine and in allowing the use of Western missiles against Russian territory has allowed the Russian military to adapt and prepare for further warfare.
