NATO gets Ukraine's air and missile defense priorities ahead of Ramstein

Ukraine provided its allies with an updated list of its air and missile defense needs ahead of the next meeting in the Ramstein format, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
An extraordinary meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council was held at NATO headquarters in Brussels, chaired by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian side provided its allies with an assessment of current air threats and outlined priority needs for strengthening air defense and missile defense systems.
Deputy Minister of Defense Serhii Boiev urges partners not to delay the delivery of necessary weapons.
"Timeliness is now more important than quantity. Drones and air defense systems will determine the course of this winter," he emphasizes.
Ahead of Ramstein meeting
Ukraine is counting on an acceleration in the provision of additional air and missile defense capabilities.
This issue will be one of the central topics at the upcoming Ramstein meeting, scheduled for September 8.
Kyiv stresses the need to consider not only the total volume of aid but also the timing of its delivery.
That is why the Ukrainian side provided its allies in advance with a specific list of current needs so that partners could prepare for discussions on further support.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara notes that Kyiv and NATO agreed on the main directions for further work ahead of the next meeting of the Contact Group on Ukrainian Defense.
