National Guard troops destroy Russian tank column in Kharkiv region
Soldiers of the Charter Brigade of the National Guard repelled an enemy assault in the Kharkiv region. As a result, five Russian tanks were destroyed and damaged, and 40 soldiers were eliminated, according to the Telegram channel of the National Guard of Ukraine.
"On August 13 at 6 a.m., the enemy attempted an assault on the positions of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard Charter in the Pylne-Lyptsi and Pylne-Hlyboke directions. The Charter troops detected and confidently repelled the assault, inflicting losses on the enemy," the statement said.
The National Guard noted that the enemy's tank attack consisted of two columns of six tanks each, heavily armored against FPV drones. Each tank carried a detachment of 8-10 infantrymen.
"The first column of six tanks moved towards our positions. The invaders did not manage to reach the forward edge of the battle area. Brigade soldiers delivered powerful fire damage with all available means, stopping and destroying the column," said the National Guard.
As a result of the actions of the Charter troops, four tanks from the enemy column were destroyed, and one was damaged. Additionally, 10 Russian soldiers were killed and another 30 were wounded.
The second column of six tanks headed towards Hlyboke, where they were met by units of the 92nd Brigade.
