Monaco rejects terror version in case linked to Ukrainian businessman Yermolaiev

Law enforcement officials have released new details of the investigation into the explosion in Monaco. Despite the severe consequences, the theory of a terrorist attack has already been ruled out, according to Nice-Matin.
During a press conference, Monaco’s Prosecutor General Stéphane Thibault provided details on the course of the investigation.
"Based on the information I have, this is not an attack that can be classified as terrorist," he said.
According to the prosecutor, the suspect has not yet been identified. Officers from Monaco’s Criminal Investigation Department, together with French law enforcement, are involved in the search.
"We have not detained him, but we are in contact with the French authorities and are pursuing him in order to identify him and, hopefully, arrest him quickly,” Thibault added.
He also said that criminal proceedings have already been opened under articles related to "attempted murder" and "placing explosives or explosive devices on public roads."
What is known about the explosion in Monaco
An explosion occurred on the evening of June 29 near a residential building in Monte Carlo. According to CCTV footage, an unknown person left a backpack at the entrance and fled shortly before the blast.
Three people were injured in the incident. According to BFMTV, among them are a businessman from Dnipro, Ukraine, Vadym Yermolaiev, his wife, and their 13-year-old son. The suspect fled toward the French town of Beausoleil after the explosion and is still being sought.
Following the incident, Ukrainian diplomats contacted Monaco police, medical institutions, and judicial authorities, and began identifying the victims.
