President of Moldova Maia Sandu said the country is ready to join the international Coalition of the Willing, an initiative aimed at supporting Ukraine.

"Yes, we are ready to join the Coalition of the Willing," the president stressed.

According to Sandu, Chisinau is already discussing possible formats of participation with the Ukrainian side, taking into account the country's neutral status.

"We discussed with the Ukrainian team how this could happen, given our neutrality. However, we have already provided assistance, including demining," she said.

The president added that Moldova is ready to continue cooperation.

"And now we are ready to work on specific efforts that Moldova could contribute within the Coalition of the Willing," she concluded.

Coalition of the Willing

In early 2025, more than 30 countries created a group dubbed the Coalition of the Willing at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The initiative aims to develop and provide Ukraine with long-term security guarantees after the active phase of the war ends or a ceasefire agreement is reached.

Sandu previously noted that Moldova's participation in the coalition does not contradict the country's constitution and could include, in particular, demining and the training of specialists.
