Russian propagandists spread information claiming that Moldova is ready to immediately extradite conscription-age men to Ukraine. This was allegedly stated by the country’s Foreign Minister, Mihai Popșoi. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs asserts that this is part of a deliberate disinformation campaign by Russia, according to NewsMaker.

"Mihai Popșoi has never made such statements. When the Minister makes a public statement, it is published on the communication platforms of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Minister. The false attribution of non-existent statements is part of a deliberate disinformation campaign aimed at Moldova to divide or misinform society," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

The Ministry urged citizens to check primary sources of information.

Return of Ukrainian men from abroad

Earlier some EU countries announced they would facilitate the return of conscription-age men to Ukraine. This occurred after Ukraine suspended consular services for men aged 18 to 60. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this decision as a matter of fairness.

However, consular services were resumed on May 18 in accordance with the new provisions of the mobilization law.
