Ukraine will not stop mobilization even in the event of a ceasefire with Russia. This is explained by the need to maintain the readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to carry out their tasks, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Pavlo Palisa stated.

"Even if there is a ceasefire tomorrow, mobilization will not stop. For a certain period of time this process will continue, because no matter how much we would like it, we still need to maintain the level of readiness of the Armed Forces to carry out their primary tasks," Palisa emphasized.

He clarified that even with all the desire, it is impossible to release everyone who has been fighting as part of the Defense Forces since 2022, since there must be people to replace such defenders.

"It is also strange for me to watch videos on social networks where you see: some are fighting, others live their lives as they wish. As a military man, it pains me to see this. And here the question is for the people themselves, for society as a whole, for upbringing," he added.

Palisa also specified that the issue is planned to be resolved in a way that does not harm the country's defense capability. No one intends to drive anyone into eternal slavery. Soon, both the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff are to present their plan.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office noted that over the past four months there has been positive dynamics in the matter of mobilization.

Ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly stated that Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire with Russia. The United States made the corresponding proposal.

However, Moscow refused to agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine. Russian officials began claiming that during a ceasefire the West allegedly wants to strengthen Ukraine with new weapons.

Recently, US President Donald Trump changed his position and decided to pursue a peace agreement without a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
