Mistake that leads to teeth turning yellow: Dentist's advice
Doctor Ferakh Hamid from Britain explained how a simple mistake people make while brushing their teeth can lead to them yellowing, citing Bristol Live.
Main mistake people make when brushing their teeth
The dentist explained that before starting to brush your teeth, it is advisable to wet the toothbrush. This small step facilitates the distribution of toothpaste across all teeth, making brushing more effective.
Furthermore, when you wet the bristles on the brush, they soften. This means that during brushing, they have a gentler impact on the gums and teeth, helping to avoid any irritation or damage.
Brushing teeth in a certain way, such as without water or immediately after consuming acidic food, can over time make them less white.
Initially, a dry brush may seem useful for removing surface stains, but without water, the toothpaste is poorly distributed, leading to tooth dullness.
Moreover, brushing teeth too quickly after consuming acidic food can lead to enamel damage. Afterwards, it changes color to yellow.
Acid softens the enamel, which can lead to tooth sensitivity or change their color. To avoid this, it's better to wait some time after consuming acidic food before brushing your teeth, so that your enamel remains strong and your teeth stay healthy.
Don't forget to brush your teeth and gums for two minutes twice a day, use mouthwash, and visit the dentist regularly.
