The number of casualties as a result of a Russian missile attack on Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, has increased to 40 people, including three children, according to the National Police of Ukraine.

"As of 4:00 p.m., four civilians were killed and 40 wounded in Pokrovsk, including three children. Russian terrorists hit the same location with two Iskander-M missiles half an hour apart," the police said.

In addition to civilians, three policemen were wounded when they arrived to help people immediately after the first strike.

The enemy targeted the private sector. Among the injured are two girls aged 11 and 13 and a boy aged 12.

An investigative team, police explosives experts, and paramedics, together with rescuers and an ambulance, worked at the scene of the attack.

According to preliminary data, at least 18 civilian objects were damaged.

Missile attack on Pokrovsk

On Monday, June 24, Russian forces attacked Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, with Iskander-M missiles. The shelling killed four people and injured dozens.

Law enforcement officers, rescuers, and representatives of the city council are currently working at the scene.

Earlier, the head of the Regional Military Administration Vadym Filashkin said that the enemy launched two Iskander-M missiles at Pokrovsk. The strike also destroyed a private house and damaged 16 others.
