Russia loses a thousand soldiers daily in the war. At the same time, the Russian army's advance rate is only 1.5–4.5 km per month, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated this during a conversation with journalists.

"The active front line currently measures 1,218 kilometers. This figure changes periodically. Just a month ago, the length of the active combat line was 1,253 kilometers. It has now decreased thanks to the actions of our troops," he said.

The general noted that, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian advance rates in some areas are only 1.5–4.5 km per month. For example, in the Pokrovsk direction, it is about 1.5 km.

"For comparison: according to combat manuals, the rate of advance when breaking through a prepared defense is roughly 1–1.5 km per hour, and 1.5–2.5 km per hour against an unprepared defense. In other words, Russian advances, despite daily losses exceeding 1,000 personnel, are negligible," Syrskyi emphasized.

He also said that in November, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ drone units struck about 24,000 Russian soldiers, a record figure.

Syrskyi stated that drones now play a huge role in countering Russian troops. According to him, they account for over 60% of strikes on Russian targets at the front.

Additionally, Syrskyi previously reported that over the past week, Ukrainian defenders managed to clear about 11.5 square kilometers of Pokrovsk from Russian troops — over a third of the city’s territory.
