Millions of Netflix customers will be able to watch rocket launches, astronauts on the orbital station, as well as the overall situation in space, a NASA press release states.

The streaming service Netflix and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have signed a partnership agreement.

As part of the new partnership, NASA+ programs will become available on the Netflix streaming platform, which has over 700 million subscribers worldwide.

Such a step will allow viewers around the world to watch rocket launches, astronauts going on spacewalks, and view stunning footage of Earth from the International Space Station.

"The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience," said Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+ at the agency’s headquarters in Washington.

The Agency expects that this partnership will help convey to people the excitement of the agency's discoveries, innovations, and space research, wherever they are.

Threat to space exploration from NASA

According to The Washington Post, the conflict between SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump threatens to derail NASA's space missions.

In particular, Musk threatened to withdraw all reusable Dragon spacecraft from service.

In addition, at the beginning of June, Trump suddenly abandoned the previously announced candidate for the position of NASA Head.
