How Miki Ryosuke lost weight

Miki Ryosuke is not just a Japanese film star; he also provides health and fitness advice, and he has a quite simple trick that can help you lose weight.

Since the actor struggled with back pain, he began regularly practicing a set of exercises for it. These exercises involve breathing techniques, weight shifting, and muscle tension.

Initially, Ryosuke used breathing techniques to alleviate back pain, as recommended by a doctor. However, he quickly noticed that, in addition to relieving pain, regular breathing using the "long-breath method" also contributed to his weight loss.

In just 50 days, he lost 13 kilograms, reduced his waistline by twelve centimeters, and lowered his body fat percentage from 25 to 6.6 percent - possibly just through breathing.

But that's not all: the actor also claims that his hair became thicker, his skin lighter, and overall, he looks younger. The breathing technique sounds almost too good to be true as a fitness and anti-aging miracle.

How the long breath method works:

  1. Stand straight, place one foot in front of the other, and slightly turn the back foot outward while keeping the thighs straight.

  2. Shift the entire body weight to the back foot and slightly lean the upper body backward.

  3. Inhale slowly for three seconds, raising your arms above your head and stretching them.

  4. Then exhale vigorously for seven seconds, tensing the body muscles, and lift your arms to shoulder height.

  5. Repeat this process for two to five minutes.

It is recommended to perform this exercise daily.

Can you lose weight through this technique

The fact that breathing can impact our emotions and psyche is not new. Numerous studies have already explored this phenomenon and concluded that shallow and rapid breathing can lead to increased stress. This may result in elevated blood pressure, difficulties in concentration, and fatigue.

On the contrary, deep and rhythmic breathing exercises can contribute to relaxation. This method also requires you to regularly engage in long and deep inhalations.

One breath is not enough

It is not proven whether the long-breath method really works. Unfortunately, if you want to achieve significant weight loss in the long term, relying solely on a breathing technique may not yield substantial results. Breathing exercises are an excellent way to relieve stress and relax, contributing to overall well-being and potentially aiding in weight loss success.

Moreover, the body is already provided with an adequate supply of oxygen, which is beneficial for the brain and the body. However, if serious weight loss is your goal, adopting a healthy diet and engaging in regular physical activity is essential.
