Following the ceasefire in Oleshky, scheduled to begin on October 29, it will take 5–7 days to implement all planned measures, states Marc Beckman, chief adviser to US First Lady Melania Trump.

He emphasized that the operation in Oleshky will be large-scale and added that all participants face a significant task.

He said that he believed it would take five to seven days after October 29 to ensure that everything planned was carried out. He added that if President Zelenskyy and leader Putin were once again ready to cooperate with the First Lady after that, he was confident that Melania Trump would continue those humanitarian efforts.

Beckman added that the US First Lady is currently working directly with Ukraine and Russia on the next stage of reuniting children with their families.

US media company to document the operation

Melania Trump's adviser noted that the Americans had proposed involving a neutral American media company on the ground that would perform traditional journalistic functions and document everything through video, photography, and audio recordings.

He revealed that this company is Newsmax, which will document the process to help ensure that the wishes of all people are respected. The First Lady’s team worked with the organization's owner, and the journalists agreed to travel to the site.

Beckman emphasized that journalists would go there to perform a role that went beyond ordinary event coverage. He added that they would act as neutral American observers on the ground and record testimonies from all those involved.

He noted that this would serve as another safeguard to help guarantee safe passage for residents of Oleshky to secure locations.

Ceasefire in Oleshky

The White House reported that Melania Trump had mediated negotiations regarding the introduction of a local ceasefire in Oleshky. She interacted directly with the leadership of Ukraine and Russia to agree on the terms of the silence regime.

According to the US First Lady, she learned about the humanitarian situation in Oleshky during an event in New York within the framework of the 81st UN General Assembly. To coordinate negotiations, the parties used a communication channel established during the previous six stages of returning 34 children.

The Office of Melania Trump reported that the local ceasefire is scheduled to begin on October 29, 2026.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that the silence regime in Oleshky is planned to be introduced on October 27. According to him, the relevant agreement was reached by the negotiation groups of Ukraine and Russia.

Furthermore, spokesperson for Russian President Dmitry Peskov stated the possibility of extending the First Lady’s peacekeeping initiatives to other combat zones.
