The successful mission to evacuate residents of Oleshky, which concluded on October 31, offers hope for establishing a sustainable peace between Ukraine and Russia, states US First Lady Melania Trump.

The wife of the US President commented for the first time on the completion of the evacuation of Oleshky residents, which she had supported throughout the process.

"Hope for sustainable peace. Oleshky proves we can raise humanity above war," wrote Melania Trump.

She also reposted a message from Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets regarding the completion of the people rescue mission.

It is important to note that Melania Trump was one of the public advocates for introducing a ceasefire regime in the Oleshky area to save the civilians trapped there.

"Together, we can build a peaceful planet, a world of promise for our children," added the wife of the US President.

Local ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia

On October 27, a ceasefire regime was introduced in the area of the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in the Kherson region to conduct a humanitarian mission. The ceasefire regime will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on November 1.

Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that the first 30 hours of the ceasefire in Oleshky passed without violations.

Subsequently, it also became known that Kyiv and Moscow had agreed on monthly aid for the Kherson region following the humanitarian mission in Oleshky.

And on October 31, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the evacuated residents of Oleshky had crossed into Ukrainian territory in the Chernihiv region.
