Ukrainians from the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region have been successfully evacuated and have crossed the state border into Ukraine in the Chernihiv region, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Twitter (X).
The president noted that a ceasefire was established on the Kherson axis, during which demining teams cleared the roads leading to Oleshky of mines.
This made it possible to deliver humanitarian aid and evacuate local residents, as well as people from the surrounding community who were in urgent need of evacuation.
As of now, Ukrainian citizens from Oleshky have crossed the Ukrainian border in the Chernihiv region.
All those evacuated will receive the necessary assistance, while government agencies and regional and local authorities are to ensure their effective integration.

Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the US side and US First Lady Melania Trump for mediating the organization of the mission.
He also highlighted the contribution of Ukraine's Defense Forces, which ensured security conditions, and the team of Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
"I am proud of our Defense Forces of Ukraine, who defend our country and honorably ensured the security conditions for this humanitarian operation," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy also expressed special thanks to journalists, public figures and political leaders for drawing global attention to the humanitarian catastrophe in the occupied territory.
"When the world pays attention, people are rescued," the president emphasized in his post, adding that the country needs further de-escalation steps to make real progress toward peace.
On Friday, October 30, the Ukrainian delegation reached Oleshky, where an evacuation and the distribution of humanitarian aid began in the town.
Later, the evacuated residents of the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky arrived in Gomel, Belarus, from where they set off for Ukraine a few hours later.
