Rumors have appeared in the media that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may meet with US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the American leader’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. So far, no arrangements have been made, according to Axios correspondent Barak Ravid on Twitter (X) and the Ukrainian head of state at a press conference in Ireland.

Meeting rumors

Ravid wrote that Witkoff and Kushner are currently holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

"They are expected to travel from Moscow to a European country and meet Ukrainian President Zelenskyy," he added.

What Zelenskyy says

Zelenskyy recalled that he already spoke with Witkoff and other members of President Donald Trump’s team yesterday, November 1. Meanwhile, Kyiv is awaiting the outcome of the US-Russia negotiations.

"I will react based on today’s results. If I feel that we can count on a real, specific dialogue — not just words, with some results — we are ready to meet, and we would be very glad to host him in Ukraine. But I’m not sure they are ready to come in the next few days, though who knows. I want to wait until this evening," the president added.

Witkoff and Kushner’s talks with Putin

Today, November 2, US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the American leader’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are in Moscow. They have already met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The main topic of discussion is expected to be the US peace plan to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

It remains unclear what the outcome of these talks will be. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that in meetings with American officials, he wants to discuss the de jure recognition of Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories by Russia.
