The Wall Street Journal reported that Ukraine's military losses in the war amount to 80,000 soldiers. However, the actual figures are lower, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"80,000? That’s a lie. The actual figure is much lower than what has been published. Significantly so," he stated.

What preceded this

On September 17, the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported that the number of killed and wounded Ukrainians and Russians involved in the war allegedly reached approximately 1 million.

According to the journalists, during the military actions, around 80,000 Ukrainian servicemen and 200,000 Russian servicemen were reportedly killed.

Fake news from Bild

It is worth noting that Western media have previously published information that does not correspond to reality in their reports.

Just recently, Bild claimed that Ukraine was allegedly ready for a "freeze" in the war. Journalists reportedly familiarized themselves with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's victory plan.

They assured that the plan supposedly included Ukraine's "readiness" to accept a "local ceasefire in certain areas of the front." Zelenskyy's office responded by stating that Bild spread fake news.
