Matthew Perry's death investigation: At least one person arrested in case

One source reports that not just one, but several people have been arrested. This includes the doctor, as well as several dealers involved in supplying ketamine to the actor. According to forensic experts, Perry's death was due to the effects of this drug.

Meanwhile, another source states that currently only one person has been arrested, while others have only been charged.

The official cause of death for the 54-year-old Friends star was the effect of ketamine he had taken, combined with heart issues.

The actor was found dead in his home, in the pool. An autopsy revealed that the amount of ketamine in his blood did not exceed the normal range.

However, sources close to Matthew revealed that in the weeks leading up to his death, he had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy due to his depression and anxiety. The autopsy also indicated that the drug caused excessive stimulation of the cardiovascular system and respiratory depression.

Perry had struggled with drug addiction for years and was open about his issues, even writing about them in memoirs released shortly before his death.

Matthew Perry was an American-Canadian actor best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the TV series Friends, as well as Nicholas "Oz" Oseransky in the film The Whole Nine Yards.

He was buried on November 3 at the private Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles, near Warner Bros. Studios. The farewell ceremony was attended by his family and colleagues, including the main cast members of Friends. Only about 20 people were present at the service.

The investigation into the death of Matthew Perry has not been closed, as reports in June suggested that several individuals could be implicated in the case.

In addition to his drug addiction, Perry also struggled with alcohol problems. He went through rehabilitation about 15 times and attended around 6,000 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

The actor also suffered from drug-induced bowel syndrome, a condition caused by excessive opioid use.

Between 2018 and 2019, he spent about six months in the hospital due to a perforated gastrointestinal tract. He was in a coma for two weeks and used a colostomy bag for nine months.

After his hospitalization, doctors informed his family that he had only a 2% chance of survival. He was connected to an ECMO machine, which effectively replaced his heart and lungs.
