Russia launched a massive attack on port infrastructure in Ukraine's Odesa region on Saturday, July 18. One person was killed and three others were injured in the attack, Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, stated.

In the Black Sea, Russian forces attacked a foreign commercial vessel flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda.

One person was killed, while three others were injured and hospitalized. The victims are receiving all necessary medical care.

Infrastructure facilities were also damaged, including buildings, storage tanks, and warehouses. No casualties among infrastructure workers have been reported so far.

During efforts to deal with the aftermath of one of the attacks, Russian forces launched a second strike. As a result, specialized rescue equipment was damaged. Emergency personnel were sheltering at the time, so no rescuers were injured.

Russia's July 18 attack on Ukraine

As previously reported, Russia attacked Ukraine overnight on July 18 with seven missiles and 90 strike drones. The Odesa region was the primary target.

Ukraine's air defenses managed to intercept most of the incoming targets, but some strikes still hit their targets.

Missile strikes and 19 strike drones were recorded at 19 locations, while debris from intercepted targets fell at five locations.

Late on July 17, Russian forces also launched missile strikes on a vessel flying the flag of the Marshall Islands and on the Port of Odesa. Several crew members were injured in the attack.
