The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has responded to the extensive nighttime shelling of Kherson. He stated that the elimination of the consequences of Russian attacks continued throughout the night, according to the Telegram channel of the head of state.

Zelenskyy's reaction

"Brutal terrorist shelling. Deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure that sustains life and ordinary streets," wrote Zelenskyy.

According to the president, the shelling affected a school, hospitals, a boiler house, the city's heating networks, residential private and multi-story buildings.

"There are injuries, including a child. All those affected are receiving assistance. Unfortunately, there are casualties. My condolences to the families. All necessary services, our rescuers, will work around the clock to restore electricity and heating supplies," wrote Zelenskyy.

He also expressed gratitude to everyone working on weekdays and holidays, during the day and at night, to allow Ukrainian cities and villages to live.

"And I am grateful to everyone who does everything to make Russian terrorists feel our Ukrainian response, a completely just response to their attacks," Zelenskyy wrote.

Information about the consequences of the shelling of Kherson

On the night of Sunday, December 24, Russian forces extensively shelled Kherson. As a result, nine people were injured, including a 15-year-old child. Additionally, there is information about at least four fatalities.

Occupiers also significantly damaged the gas network in the central district of Kherson. Since morning, specialists from the enterprise have been repairing the damaged sections.

A year ago, on the eve of Christmas, the enemy cynically launched a massive attack on Kherson. At that time, 10 people were killed, and another 62 were injured.
