Massive missile attack on Ukraine: 30 of 38 Russian rockets intercepted
Russia launched 38 missiles of various types against Ukraine during today's massive attack. 30 were destroyed by air defense, according to the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.
At about 10 a.m., the enemy launched a combined missile strike against Ukraine using air, sea, and ground-based missiles.
In total, Russia used 38 missiles of various types:
- 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missile
- 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles
- 1 3M22 Zircon cruise missile;
- 13 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 14 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 2 Kh-22 cruise missiles;
- 3 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided missiles.
Air defense destroyed 30 missiles, namely:
- 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missile;
- 3 Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
- 11 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 12 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 3 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided missiles.
"The world must respond harshly to this crime. And there must be no discussions about whether it is possible to strike military targets on the territory of Russia. We will take revenge for every Ukrainian," added Oleshchuk.
Massive shelling
On the night of July 8, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 4 Kh-101 missiles and 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Air defense destroyed 3 Kh-101 missiles.
After 9:50 a.m., they launched another attack against Ukraine. At first, explosions were heard in Kropyvnytskyi district and Kryvyi Rih. There were also reports of air defense operations in the Kyiv region and Kyiv.
As of 3 p.m.:
- 11 dead and 62 wounded in the Dnipropetrovsk region;
- 17 dead and 48 wounded in Kyiv;
- 2 dead in the Kyiv region.
