On the evening of June 5, the occupied Crimean Peninsula experienced a massive air raid alert — it was declared five times. Explosions were heard near Krasnoperekopsk, Armiansk, Novofedorivka, and in the Saky district, according to the Telegram channel Krymskyi Veter and Russian media sources.

On the evening of June 5, five consecutive air raid alerts were declared in Crimea due to the threat of a large-scale attack.

The first air raid alert in Sevastopol was announced at 21:35. The Russians reported a missile threat. It was stated that both marine and ground public transport were halted.

According to Russian sources, Crimea was attacked with Neptune missiles and drones.

Explosions were reported between Krasnoperekopsk and Armiansk around 23:24, according to social media.

At 00:38 in Novofedorivka, air defenses were activated, and two explosions were heard.

Two more explosions occurred in the Saky district.

What happened in Crimea on the evening of June 5

On the evening of June 5, air raid sirens went off in Sevastopol for the first time at 9:35 p.m. Russian sources reported a threat of a missile strike. As a result, both sea and land public transportation in the city were temporarily shut down.

According to Russian reports, Crimea was attacked by Ukraine, allegedly using Neptune missiles and drones. The air raid alert was canceled several times throughout the night but kept getting reissued due to new threats.

Russian outlets complained about a large-scale combined attack. They claim Ukraine deployed a strike drone called Lyutiy, which can fly up to 620 miles, carry around 110 pounds of explosives, and reach speeds up to 100 miles per hour.

SBU attacked the Crimean Bridge on June 3

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) carried out another unique operation, striking the Crimean Bridge for the third time. This time, the attack targeted a structurally complex section of the Crimean Bridge.

According to the SBU, the operation lasted several months. Initially, SBU agents planted explosives on the bridge’s supports, and early this morning at 4:44 a.m., the first device was detonated, with no civilian casualties.

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, personally oversaw the operation and coordinated its planning.
