Maritime drones to shield civilian shipping from Russian attacks in Black Sea

Danish company BlueShadow said that protecting corridors for civilian shipping is a key part of the Blue Dragon system's mission. According to the company's CEO, Charles Maher, the technology will create an offshore counter-drone zone that will protect both sea routes and coastal infrastructure.
A sea fortress to protect shipping corridors
Maher confirmed that Blue Dragon is capable of protecting civilian vessels specifically, which have increasingly come under Russian attacks in recent weeks and months. According to him, Russian attacks have effectively closed the route for cargo ships to Ukraine, and protecting shipping corridors is a key element of the company's mission.
The CEO emphasized that BlueShadow's strategy at sea mirrors the approach proposed by commander Robert "Magyar" Brovdi for countering drones on land, but adapted to the maritime environment.
A shelter for ports and coastal infrastructure
According to Maher, Blue Dragon will create an offshore counter-drone zone - essentially a sea fortress. The zone will provide protection not only for coastal shipping routes but also for ports, cities and critical infrastructure onshore.
Earlier, BlueShadow CEO Charles Maher explained how the Blue Dragon system will operate: squadrons of 12 vessels, 10 of which will remain on duty at sea at all times, can be operated by a shore-based team of just five people.
