While performing combat missions, Ukrainian soldiers removed the Russian tricolor flag in one of the settlements of the Kursk region, reports the 501st Separate Battalion.

The published video shows the soldier climbing a pole and removing the flag of Russia in a few seconds. The military clarified that the events took place in the village of Apanasivka, Kursk region.

“The Ukrainian Marines, together with other units of the Defense Forces, are at the forefront of combat missions in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Soldiers of the 501st Marine Battalion are throwing down a tricolor rag in the village of Apanasivka,” the battalion said in a statement.

Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in Kursk region

On Tuesday, August 6, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a special operation in the Kursk region. As early as August 15, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that 82 Russian settlements were under Ukrainian control. The next day, he said that Ukrainian soldiers had advanced another 1-3 km.

Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured Russia's newest T-90M tank during an operation in the Kursk region.
