In the US, a man fainted live during an event at the White House. As a result, the press had to be temporarily removed from the room. The briefing resumed shortly afterward, according to Newsweek.

During a press conference with President Trump in the Oval Office and pharmaceutical manufacturers, where discussions focused on lowering prices for popular obesity treatments, a man standing behind the president suddenly fainted.

Officials rushed to assist him, and the press was asked to leave the room. It is currently unclear what caused the loss of consciousness and who the individual was.

"During the Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement, a representative with one of the companies fainted. The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay," said Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt.

An hour after the incident, Trump resumed the event, but the man did not return to the Oval Office. Trump told the press that the man had felt dizzy but is now doing fine. He also declined to identify him.

The man was initially misidentified as Gordon Findlay, CEO of the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. However, the company later clarified that two of its representatives were present at the event — CEO Mike Doustdar and Executive Vice President of US Operations Dave Moore — and both are fine. Who exactly fainted behind Trump remains unknown.

In September, Trump announced the introduction of new large-scale tariffs, including a 100% duty on all patented and branded drugs imported into the country.

The company whose CEO was mistakenly identified as the person who fainted was also affected by this Trump directive. The active ingredients for the popular weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy (Novo Nordisk) are manufactured in Denmark, meaning they are subject to Trump’s tariffs.
