Mahuchikh, Doroshchuk and more: Ukraine reveals athletics squad for World Championships

The Ukrainian national athletics team has finalized its roster for the 2025 World Championships, which will take place from September 13 to 21 in Tokyo, Japan, reports the official website of the National Athletics Federation.
Champions and debutants
The official roster includes 23 athletes who will compete in nine disciplines for men and women.
The team features the reigning world high jump champion, Yaroslava Mahuchikh. She brought Ukraine its only gold medal at the previous championship in 2023 in Budapest.
Another medal, a silver, was won two years ago in the triple jump by Marina Bekh-Romanchuk. She had planned to compete in Tokyo but will miss the event due to a doping disqualification.
Also competing in Japan will be javelin thrower Artur Felfner and track and field athlete Mykhailo Kokhan, both of whom have experience in world championship finals.
Among the favorites are high jumpers Oleh Doroshchuk and Yuliia Levchenko, who posted strong results in the Diamond League final.
Seven athletes from the blue-and-yellow team will compete in the World Championships for the first time. These are Kateryna Tabashnyk (high jump), Olga Korsun (triple jump), Oleksandr Onufriiev (pole vault), Artem Levchenko (shot put), and Mykola Rushchak and Yehor Shelest (race walking).
Unfortunately, pole vaulter Vladyslav Malykhin won't be able to compete at the World Championships as he did not receive his visa to Japan in time.
