Magnetic storms will begin affecting our planet in the first days of July. However, according to scientists' forecasts, the middle of summer will be calmer than in previous months. Of course, this is still a preliminary forecast, and solar activity may yet change. Here is when to expect magnetic storms in July and how to protect your health.

Magnetic storm schedule for July 2025

July 1–3: increased geomagnetic activity is expected, with possible local flares ranging from Kp-4 to Kp-5

July 5–6: scientists warn of a G1-level geomagnetic storm

July 11–12: a strong G1-level magnetic storm is expected (Kp-5 and above)

July 16–18: possible local surges reaching G1–G2 levels

What is a magnetic storm

Daily, various intensity flares and explosions occur on the Sun. The largest ones result in the release of a huge number of charged particles into space. These particles travel very quickly and can reach Earth.

When these particles encounter our planet's magnetosphere, disturbances occur that scientists refer to as solar or magnetic storms. Storms are classified by their intensity, from weak to strong. The stronger the storm, the worse the effects on people.

How a magnetic storm affects humans

According to many studies, the Earth's magnetic field fluctuations are not consciously felt, but greatly disrupt human biorhythms. This leads to worsening well-being, mood changes, and general discomfort.

The most sensitive to such fluctuations are:
elderly people,
weather-sensitive individuals,
people with chronic illnesses,
pregnant women,
infants.

Most common symptoms:

  • Headache
  • Migraine
  • Dizziness
  • Brain fog
  • Nausea
  • Decreased concentration and alertness
  • Blood pressure spikes
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Daytime sleepiness, nighttime insomnia
  • Increased anxiety
  • Severe fatigue
  • Panic attacks
  • Apathy
  • Aggression
  • Irritability
  • Exacerbation of chronic diseases

How to protect your body

Doctors say it's impossible to completely avoid magnetic storm impact. However, general recommendations can help reduce their negative effects.

Sleep. Sleep 7–9 hours per night, go to bed and wake up at the same time (preferably 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM). If you're very tired, take a 1–2 hour break during the day.

Nutrition. Limit consumption of unhealthy, fatty, salty foods. Eat regularly — three or more times a day. Meals should be balanced and rich in nutrients. Add fruits, vegetables, and greens. Avoid alcohol, energy drinks, and excessive coffee.

Water. Maintain hydration by drinking enough clean, plain water daily.

Physical activity. Avoid overloading your body with intense exercise, but don't forget to move. Morning stretching, gym workouts, running, or swimming are good options.

Fresh air. Ventilate all rooms twice a day — in the morning and evening. Walk in parks, forests, or squares daily. If you can leave the city, do it.

Stress. Manage stress levels, avoid arguments and quarrels, and don't fall for provocations. Don't overload yourself emotionally. Use breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, meditation, or yoga.

Limit your exposure to news, social media, and shocking content, especially in the evening, 2–3 hours before bed.

Take care of yourself. Rest more, engage in pleasant activities, pay attention to your well-being, and keep necessary medications on hand if you have chronic illnesses. If your condition worsens, seek medical help.
