Magnetic storms in Europe: When it will be stormy from March 10 to 15

Monday will start with a red-level magnetic storm, and the whole week, according to scientists, will be turbulent. Such magnetic storms can cause a deterioration in the health of many people, as well as malfunction of radio and electrical equipment.
What is a magnetic storm
Every day, flares and explosions occur on the Sun, which result in the release of a large number of charged particles into space. These particles can move quickly, including toward the Earth. When they reach the magnetosphere of our planet, a disturbance occurs, which experts call magnetic or solar storms.
The power of a storm depends on many factors, and scientists monitor the Sun around the clock. All storms with a K-index of 5 or higher are red-level storms that have an impact on human life. Weaker storms can be felt by meteorologically sensitive people.
What health problems are caused by magnetic storms
Scientists have conducted many studies that have proven that magnetic storms can affect human health and well-being. The stronger the storm, the more unpleasant the consequences can be. A storm can cause both mild malaise and more serious health problems.
The most common complaints are
- Headache
- Migraine
- Nausea
- Weakness
- Drowsiness during the day
- Insomnia at night
- Decreased concentration and performance
- Increased anxiety
- Mood swings (depressed mood)
- Depressive states
- Irritation and aggression
- Problems with blood pressure and the cardiovascular system in general
- Exacerbation of chronic diseases
When magnetic storms are expected from March 10 to 15
After a powerful 7-point storm over the weekend, the tension will begin to subside, but in the coming days, you should take care of your health.
According to the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, NASA OMNIWeb, and Space Weather Live, the scientists' forecast is as follows:
March 10 - K-index 5, which corresponds to a red-level magnetic storm. There may be a slight deterioration in health, headaches, and fatigue.
March 11 - activity will decrease slightly, K-index 4 is expected, which corresponds to a moderate magnetic storm.
March 12 - activity will begin to increase again and reach K-index 5, which corresponds to a red-level magnetic storm. You may feel unwell.
March 13 - the level of solar activity from K-index 5 to K-index 6, which corresponds to a red-level magnetic storm. You may feel unwell.
March 14 - the level of activity is unchanged and will remain at K-index 5-6. You may feel worse.
March 15 - activity will begin to gradually decline, K-index 5 is expected with a possible decline in the afternoon. You may feel unwell.
It is worth noting that all scientists' forecasts are preliminary, as solar activity is constantly changing and data can change even within a day. Therefore, it is worth following updates and warnings from scientists.
How to protect your body during magnetic storms
According to doctors, the most important thing is moderation. You should not overload yourself physically, psychologically, or emotionally, and it is not recommended to eat junk food, overeat, drink alcohol, or drink a lot of coffee.
You need to follow a normal daily routine, get enough sleep, eat a balanced diet, drink enough water, and take walks in the fresh air.
It is also recommended to ventilate the room, avoid stress, and get more rest.
If you feel unwell, you should seek medical help.
