Drone force commander drops his forecast whether war wraps up in 2025

The war in Ukraine is likely to continue beyond 2025. This forecast was made by the Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, who spoke about new challenges and a technological response to Russian aggression, according to his interview at the LANDEURO international conference in Wiesbaden, Germany, on July 18.
According to Robert Brovdi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there is currently no reason to expect a swift end to the fighting.
He therefore predicts that the full-scale war in Ukraine will not end in 2025 and will most likely continue beyond that.
He stated that they could not expect the end of the war not tomorrow, not after tomorrow, in one day, in one week, or even more. So, they should be pragmatically understanding that if they did not continue fighting for the next moments, a lot of countries could join that war.
Brovdi believes the main threats to Ukraine are the overwhelming manpower of the Russian army, massive kamikaze drone attacks across the country, and Ukraine’s limited mobilization resources.
“Nowadays, the biggest threat is Putin sending more personnel to the battlefield that we can kill as of now. This is the first challenge. Second, Putin has found the best cheap solution for fighting against civilians, it's called Shahed. It's also damaging our infrastructure a lot. This third challenge is that everyone who'd like to join the Ukrainian army has already joined it and is already on the battlefield. So, we should not expect more civilians to join the army next month,” Madyar emphasized.
At the same time, Madyar clarified that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are constantly looking for ways to counter enemy attacks. This includes large-scale automation of the front, replacing parts of the infantry with ground-based drones, as well as creating a deeply layered defense system using UAVs.
“Next step, we should build the Great Wall of China, which will defend our border line and will stop anything that is flying, either from the ground or from the air. And nowadays, we're creating this wall,” the commander emphasized.
Madyar’s statement indicates that Ukraine is preparing for a prolonged defense and is betting on next-generation technologies in its war against Russia.
The commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), Madyar, recently reported on the performance of the unit. According to him, in June, one in every four enemy soldiers and one in every five enemy targets were hit by units of the newly formed Unmanned Systems Forces.
