Macron says Ukraine and Europe must take part in Trump-Putin meeting

Ukraine and Europe must be represented at the negotiating table during the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, stated French President Emmanuel Macron, according to Barron's.
Macron said he welcomes Trump's plans to hold a new meeting with Putin.
"From the moment they discuss the fate of Ukraine, the Ukrainians should be at the table. From the moment they discuss what impacts the security of Europeans, the Europeans should be at the table," he said.
Trump-Putin meeting
US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to hold a new meeting during a phone call on Thursday, October 16.
Trump and Putin also agreed that senior American and Russian officials would meet to prepare for the talks. The US delegation is expected to be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will represent the Russian side.
Rubio and Lavrov held a phone conversation today, October 20, discussing next steps following the Trump-Putin dialogue, as well as the possibility of a peaceful settlement to Russia's war against Ukraine.
The US Secretary of State and the Russian Foreign Minister are expected to meet later this week. According to Reuters sources, the meeting could take place on Thursday, October 23.
Earlier, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev suggested that his country might allow Putin’s plane to pass through its airspace on his way to Budapest.
