Macron’s recognition of Palestine sparks outrage from Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he strongly condemns French President Emmanuel Macron's decision to recognize Palestine as a state, according to The Times of Israel.
According to a statement from his office, Netanyahu said that the decision encourages terror and threatens the creation of another Iranian puppet state, similar to what happened in Gaza.
“A Palestinian state in these conditions would be a launch pad to annihilate Israel — not to live in peace beside it,” the Prime Minister said.
He also added that the Palestinians are not seeking to establish a state alongside Israel, but rather are seeking to establish a state instead of Israel.
What preceded this
Yesterday, French President Emmanuel Macron published a post on the social media platform X, in which he stated that France will recognize Palestine as a state this September.
“I will make a formal declaration at the United Nations General Assembly in September,” Macron said.
He also emphasized the urgent need to end the war in Gaza and provide aid to the civilian population.
“There must also be a demilitarization of Hamas, guarantees of security, and the reconstruction of Gaza,” the French leader added.
