Belarus is ready to host a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin if necessary to ensure peace, states spokesperson for Alexander Lukashenko, Natallia Eismant.

According to her, the issue was not discussed during a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Alexander Lukashenko.

“Belarus has not volunteered, and is not volunteering, as a mediator, but if it is necessary for peace in our brotherly republic, we are ready to organize any meeting,” Eismant said.

Which countries are ready to host a Zelenskyy-Putin meeting

As previously reported by RBC-Ukraine, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker stated that Austria is ready to host a Zelenskyy-Putin meeting in Vienna. He also noted that the Austrian government will consult with the International Criminal Court (ICC), since the participation of individuals subject to an ICC warrant in potential peace negotiations must be agreed with the court in advance.

Switzerland has also expressed readiness to host a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, offering him immunity from criminal prosecution.

Possible locations for the Zelenskyy-Putin meeting include Geneva, Rome, or a city in Hungary.

Media reports indicate that Putin proposed meeting Zelenskyy in Moscow, which the Ukrainian president declined.

Donald Trump also refused to hold a trilateral meeting in the Russian capital.
