Louvre robbery

On October 19, four masked thieves stole eight pieces of jewelry from the world’s most visited museum - the Louvre. The value of the stolen jewels is estimated at $102 million.

The robbery, which authorities say lasted only seven minutes, sparked nationwide outrage and a large-scale manhunt.

The thieves entered the Louvre through a window using a truck-mounted lift, stole the jewels, and fled on scooters.

According to officials, the jewelry taken from the Apollo Gallery has still not been recovered.

As RBC-Ukraine reported on November 1, several Louvre robbery suspects were detained at a stadium in Paris before a football match. Four people were arrested.

According to an official statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office, a total of seven suspects have now been arrested in connection with the robbery. The investigation is ongoing.
