Lithuanian President suggests Ukraine's accession to EU date

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda stated that Ukraine's accession to the European Union should be accelerated. Ukraine should become a full member in five years.
“The security of Europe depends on the security of Ukraine. That is why let us speed up Ukraine's accession to the EU. I propose a date of January 1, 2030,” he said during the Support Ukraine plenary session with European leaders in Kyiv.
According to him, the first cluster of negotiations can be opened within a few weeks.
“Let's make Ukraine's path to the EU inevitable,” Nausėda added.
Ukraine's accession to the EU
