Lithuania has sent a new batch of military aid to Ukraine. The new package includes trucks, thermal imagers, and other equipment for the army, according to the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.

A new batch of trucks, thermal imaging sights, and other military equipment has already arrived in Ukraine. The amount of the package provided to Ukraine is EUR 80 million, as announced at the last meeting in the Ramstein format.

“The EUR 100 million support package prepared by Lithuania meets the most urgent needs of Ukraine and constitutes almost half of Lithuania's annual commitments to support Ukraine. It is estimated that with this year's support for Ukraine, Lithuania's military assistance will reach 1 billion euros,” the statement said.

The main priorities of this year's assistance are air defense, ammunition, drones, and anti-drone weapons, while developing Lithuania's defense industry, as well as supporting Ukraine's defense industry by financing weapons produced in Ukraine.

Lithuania's assistance to Ukraine

The Baltic states are among Ukraine's most important partners. Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia not only provide military, humanitarian, and financial assistance to Ukraine but also support EU sanctions against Russia and Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO.

According to the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the war, Vilnius has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth more than €769 million. Lithuania's overall support for Ukraine is long-term and has exceeded 1.5 billion euros.

In the last aid package, Lithuania sent portable short-range anti-aircraft missile systems with missiles to Ukrainian soldiers.
