Southern Beirut was hit by at least six strikes from Israeli aircraft during an operation against Hezbollah targets in the night leading up to October 1. The bombardments destroyed several homes, according to Times of Israel and Haaretz.

The strikes on the suburbs of the Lebanese capital occurred shortly after midnight on Tuesday, following a warning from the Israeli army for residents of Dahieh - a neighborhood referred to as a stronghold of the paramilitary Islamist organization Hezbollah - to evacuate.

According to an official representative of Lebanon's security service in a conversation with the AFP news agency, six or seven Israeli strikes targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Meanwhile, Lebanese news agencies reported that several buildings were destroyed during the recent Israeli airstrikes in Dahieh.

Saudi edition Al-Hadat noted that eight buildings were completely demolished.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that 95 people were killed as a result of Israeli strikes across the country on Monday, September 30.

Israeli media highlighted that the Ministry of Health's statement did not distinguish between civilians and militants or combatants.

Strikes on Beirut

Earlier, it was reported that late in the evening, a representative of the Israel Defense Forces urged residents of the Beirut suburb to evacuate, announcing impending attacks on Hezbollah targets.

Later, in the night leading up to October 1, it became known that Israeli aircraft struck strategic locations used by the militants in the Beirut suburb.

Subsequently, the IDF announced that Israeli forces had initiated ground raids in southern Lebanon as part of an operation against Hezbollah. It was also noted that IDF ground forces were operating with the support of air and artillery units conducting strikes on military targets in the area.
