Far-right French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has unexpectedly said she is willing to visit Ukraine.
Speaking on CNews, Le Pen said she could visit Ukraine at any time convenient for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We could certainly discuss this issue (France's assistance to Ukraine – ed.) at any time convenient for him. If Mr. Zelenskyy wishes for us to discuss, I will gladly come to Ukraine. But I want to tell him we no longer have the financial means to provide aid," she said.
Le Pen also stressed separately that she had "nothing, personally, against Zelenskyy."
Le Pen wants to end aid to Ukraine
As previously reported, the French far-right leader previously said that if elected president of France, she would end bilateral assistance to Ukraine.
According to Le Pen, France supposedly cannot afford to continue providing aid.
She also said she wanted to end assistance to Ukraine six months after a potential election victory.
Le Pen further assured that she would not support Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
Notably, Le Pen is known for her controversial stance on Russia's war against Ukraine. In particular, she supported Russia's occupation of Crimea.
