Russia will not halt hostilities against Ukraine during possible negotiations. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that this is Moscow's position, according to RIA Novosti.
Russia will not pause hostilities against Ukraine during the peace process. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this.
"We remain ready for negotiations, but we will not halt the special military operation for the duration of the negotiations," he told reporters at the BRICS summit in New Delhi.
Lavrov separately described Volodymyr Zelenskyy's invitation to visit Moscow as a "huge gesture of goodwill" from Russia.
Zelenskyy earlier effectively proposed that the Kremlin leader hold a face-to-face meeting during the G20 summit in December 2026. However, according to Ushakov, the possibility of Putin traveling to the G20 summit in Miami has not even been discussed yet.
