Lavrov may not come to Istanbul for negotiations with Ukraine – Russian media

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is unlikely to participate in negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul, scheduled for May 15, according to Kommersant.
The Russian outlet does not specify who exactly provided this information.
At the same time, the composition of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Istanbul remains unknown.
Rumors about Lavrov's participation
Tomorrow, May 15, Ukrainian and Russian officials may meet for negotiations in Istanbul. Ukraine has proposed that the talks be held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
As Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated in a comment to RBC-Ukraine’s YouTube channel, negotiations without Putin’s participation make no sense.
Meanwhile, The Washington Post, citing a former senior Kremlin official, reported that Russia would be represented at the Istanbul talks by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov.
Russian media, for their part, claimed that Lavrov’s participation in the negotiations has not yet been confirmed.
More details about the possible Ukraine-Russia negotiations in Istanbul can be found in the RBC-Ukraine material.
