Transfer of cars by Latvia from drunk drivers
On February 16, 2023, the Latvian government introduced amendments to the Law on Support of the Ukrainian Civilians.
Now, state-owned vehicles can be transferred to Ukraine free of charge to prevent the consequences of an emergency situation related to the war.
The first eight cars confiscated from drunk drivers were transferred to Ukraine in March - less than a month after the decision was made.
Most recently, it was reported that Latvia has transferred 11 cars to Ukraine.
