Kyiv welcomes Von der Leyen, Sandu, Dan, and Vučić in major diplomatic visit

On July 15, Ukrainians celebrate Ukrainian Statehood Day and the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus'-Ukraine. Kyiv’s allies, including Ursula von der Leyen, decided to share this double holiday with the country.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is among the first to arrive in the Ukrainian capital.
She notes that this is her 11th visit to Kyiv since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
"It’s a special moment. Ukraine has built a strong military momentum. The tide is turning," the EC President emphasizes.
On July 15, she plans to announce new initiatives regarding the integration of Ukraine’s and the EU’s defense sectors. According to von der Leyen, this will make it possible to produce more and faster.
"We will also discuss accession and preparations for this winter," the politician announces.
Romanian President Nicușor Dan, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić have also arrived in Kyiv.

The full list of European leaders who will visit the capital on July 15 has not yet been disclosed.
On July 14, Ukraine opened the sixth negotiation cluster with the European Union.
As early as July 10, EU ambassadors supported the opening of Cluster 6. It became the country’s second cluster after the key Fundamentals cluster.
Incidentally, Estonia recently called for accelerating Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
