Russian units attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles on the evening of June 25. As a result of the attack, fires broke out in the city, and people were injured, according to the Telegram channel of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the channel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Today, at approximately 9:00 pm Kyiv time, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv. The reason for the alert was the threat of a ballistic strike, after which missile launches toward the capital were recorded. A few minutes later, explosions were heard in the city, and local authorities reported that air defenses were active.

Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote that a warehouse facility caught fire in the Darnytskyi district. The State Emergency Service has now confirmed this information.

"In the Darnytskyi district, as a result of the enemy strike, a fire broke out at warehouse buildings. Firefighting efforts are ongoing. At another location, missile fragments fell on open ground. No consequences," the statement reads.

Attacks on Kyiv

Over the past month and a half, during combined attacks, Russian forces have primarily been targeting Kyiv. The Russian units' target is civilian infrastructure facilities.

For their attacks, the enemy has begun actively using ballistic missiles. The reason is that Ukraine does not have enough interceptor missiles for ballistic threats, particularly PAC-3 missiles for Patriot air defense systems.

The last combined Russian attack on Kyiv occurred on the night of June 15. At that time, Russian forces launched over 60 missiles at the city.

In addition, the enemy attempted to attack the capital using Shahed drones, and one struck the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. As a result of the strike, the Dormition Cathedral was damaged, and a fire broke out.
