Kyiv reports overnight downing of Russian Shahed drones
Last night, all Russian kamikaze drones threatening Kyiv were shot down by the air defense forces. Meanwhile, combat operations to repel the enemy's air attack continue in the region, informs the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko.
The official noted that this Shahed attack on the capital was already the 14th since the beginning of October.
The Russian occupiers launched loitering munitions toward Kyiv from the Kursk region, with the enemy drones approaching the capital mostly from the north and northeast direction.
"During the night, air raid alerts in the capital were announced three times, lasting almost six hours," said the head of the KCMA.
He emphasized that air defense forces detected around a dozen enemy drones in the airspace around Kyiv.
"All enemy UAVs that posed a threat to the capital were shot down," Popko said, adding that the exact number and type of Russian drones would be disclosed later by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The official also stated that no reports of destruction or casualties in Kyiv had been received, and operational reports are being updated and clarified.
"Currently, combat operations against the remaining enemy UAVs are ongoing in the Kyiv region. Therefore, it is possible that another air raid alert could be announced in Kyiv. I strongly urge everyone to heed warning signals and use shelters in case of danger," the head of the KCMA said in his address.
