Russians launched another drone attack on Ukraine overnight on September 8, targeting, among other regions, Kyiv oblast. Reports on social media indicate that the strikes caused power outages in several areas, according to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and local community pages.

In particular, Ukraine’s Air Force reported that as of 00:25 AM Kyiv time, several groups of enemy drones were detected over Kyiv oblast. Ten minutes later, officials confirmed that air defense systems were actively operating in the region.

"Kyiv region! Enemy UAVs detected! Air defense is operating. Do not photograph or film the work of our defenders," the Regional Military Administration warned.

Shortly after, local channels began reporting that the Trypillia thermal power plant (TPP) had come under attack, with power outages recorded in nearby settlements and parts of Kyiv. However, this information remains unverified; no official confirmation has been issued regarding damage to the TPP or blackouts.
