Kyiv officials report repelling Russian drone attack from multiple directions
Ukraine’s air defense forces downed all drones launched by Russian forces toward Kyiv during a night-time airstrike on November 24. This included more than ten enemy drones, according to Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Popko noted that the air raid alert in Kyiv lasted for over three hours during this latest airstrike, which involved drones.
“Drones approached Kyiv from different courses,” said the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.
He also pointed out that Ukraine’s air defense forces identified and destroyed more than a dozen drones that posed a threat to Kyiv, adding that the Ukrainian Air Force command would later reveal the exact number and types of the drones.
"Preliminarily, there were no reports of damage in the capital, and no information about casualties has been received," the official said.
He also mentioned that enemy drones were still being detected in the Kyiv region, suggesting the possibility that they could change direction and pose a threat to Kyiv.
“Stay alert and follow air raid alerts,” Popko said.
Nighttime Shahed drone attack
Russian forces launched kamikaze drones at Ukraine during the night’s airstrike. Air raid alerts were issued in several regions.
Later, Ukraine’s air defense was operating in the Kyiv region due to enemy kamikaze drones. Following this, an air raid alert was also declared in Kyiv.
By around 5:30 AM (Kyiv time), explosions were reported in Kyiv amid the ongoing enemy drone attack. The military had warned about the movement of enemy UAVs toward the capital.
