On the night of September 7, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on Kyiv. During the probable shootdown of a drone at a government building, a fire broke out, according to the Telegram of Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko.

“In the Pecherskyi district, a fire broke out in a government building as a result of a probable drone shootdown. Firefighters are working on site,” the report stated at 06:57 Kyiv time.

Klitschko also added that warehouse facilities are again burning in the Sviatoshynskyi district. Emergency services are working there as well.

Attack on Kyiv

On the night of September 7, Russia carried out a massive and combined attack on Ukraine, including the capital.

Throughout the night, the enemy actively launched drones at Kyiv. As a result of the shelling, several residential high-rise buildings, cars, and other property were damaged, and fires broke out.

In addition, the attack caused more than a dozen casualties, including fatalities, among whom was a one-year-old child.

Closer to morning, Russia targeted the capital with cruise missiles. Loud explosions were heard in the city during this attack. Whether the air defense forces managed to intercept the enemy targets is not yet known.
